Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter/Producer Nelson King, with over 450 songs to his credit, decided that his latest album ‘Songs’ would be stripped back to simply one man and his guitar. Over the years many of his previous albums have been full-blown production numbers with many track overdubs.
The guitar of choice from his large collection was his latest acquisition – a baby Martin acoustic. On occasions Nelson has turned up at live gigs with this baby and audiences have been astounded at the sound this small guitar produces – especially in the hands of a virtuoso like Nelson.
Nelson has never felt any desire to stick rigidly to one particular genre. For this reason as you listen to the various songs in the album you’ll hear many varied influences. Throughout the album the well-rounded melodious sounds of the Martin are enhanced by the smoky tones of Nelson’s vocals.
His debut album 'Electric' has been played on radio stations in 15 countries, received glowing reviews and even appeared in various charts worldwide. Nelson then released 'Acoustic', the follow-up to 'Electric'. The album received critical acclaim both in the UK and USA.
After receiving massive worldwide coverage for his musicianship, Nelson has played various festivals, events and venues all over the UK. Nelson has also played live sessions for BBC and FM stations.
Many artists have recorded Nelson’s songs – the most recent being JetSetGetSet, a teenage all-girl group in Nashville, released on legendary producer Jack Gale’s record label.
